IT Acronym Quiz
Every IT exam hides marks inside acronyms: if you do not know that APIPA means a DHCP failure, the question is lost before you start. Drill 60+ of the highest-frequency networking, security, cloud and general IT acronyms two ways: a 10-question quiz in both directions with instant feedback, or flashcards.
How to use this for the exam
Learn acronyms in families, not alphabet soup: the AAA pair (RADIUS, TACACS+), the backup pair (RTO, RPO), the certificate pair (CRL, OCSP), the detection stack (SIEM, SOAR, EDR) and the cloud trio (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS). When a scenario question names an acronym, expand it first - the expansion usually tells you the answer.

How many acronyms do I need to know for CompTIA exams?
Security+, Network+ and A+ each draw on well over a hundred acronyms. The 60+ in this quiz are the highest-frequency ones - if you can expand every acronym here without hesitating, acronym questions stop being free losses.
What is the best way to memorize IT acronyms?
Learn them in pairs and families: RTO next to RPO, CRL next to OCSP, and the as-a-service trio SaaS, PaaS and IaaS together. Short daily flashcard rounds beat one long session - five minutes a day keeps the expansions instant under exam pressure.
What is the difference between RTO and RPO?
RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is how quickly a system must be back after an outage; RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is how much data loss is acceptable, measured in time. RTO is about the clock on the wall; RPO is about the last good backup.
Why do TACACS+ and RADIUS both exist?
Both are AAA protocols for network device access. RADIUS combines authentication and authorization and runs over UDP; TACACS+ separates all three AAA functions, encrypts the whole payload and runs over TCP - which is why Cisco device administration often prefers TACACS+.
